My daughters and I tried to celebrate Shelley's Birthday in a way that she would have enjoyed. We had a small ceremony at the cemetery with a balloon release and new flowers. We went and had a nice lunch and Pedi's for relaxation. We made the best of a day that she would never get to see. She will forever be 20...Something she never had any control over. How I would give anything to trade places with her. She deserved better than death...she deserved life.
Shelley Nance Memorial Art Exhibit
Once again our family will share Shelley's Art with the local community at the Ellis County Art Museum in Waxahachie, Texas on March 10 from 5-7 pm. Please come and see what a talent she had and what the world lost when she was killed. Donations will be accepted and all proceeds benefit the Shelley Nance Memorial Art Scholarship Fund.
'On the Case with Paula Zahn' to air Feb
Shelley's life and death will air "On the Case with Paula Zahn" in the episode called "The Art of Murder" It will air on the Investigation Discovery Channel on cable On Feb 12. Check your menu for times.

If you are familiar with this TV program by Paula Zahn, she is doing a story on my daughter Shelley's life and death. It will preview sometime in the near future. Please tune in if you can so you can see her artwork and the story of her life. I hope it turns out well and that everyone can see what a wonderfully talented, beautiful young woman she was.
Finally a verdict
After spending 4 grueling days at trial we finally have a guilty verdict with a life in prison sentence. Praise GOD . Shelley may now rest in peace...

There is no doubt that what happened was unfair. Your daughter did deserve to live, but it's a bad idea for you to trade places with her. Instead I'd do it, that way you two could have celebrated her birthday together. Even though she has passed she did see her birthday. She was with you just like she's with you everyday.
